President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) Visited Talang Banjar Folk Market, Jambi. In that market, Jokowi hinted at an increase in the price of eggs.
“It’s the end of the holiday,” Jokowi said. “I want to check whether the prices of basic foodstuffs in the market have increased, and it turns out that no one has seen an increase in prices, only eggs have increased slightly.” The site after reviewing food prices in the popular market, reported Ditik SumatraTuesday (16/5/2023).

Jokowi said that when he checked the prices of basic necessities, there were no prices in the market that had gone up. However, Jokowi was moved by the high price of purebred chicken eggs in the market.
“If the prices of other staple foods did not increase, only the price of genuine chicken eggs experienced an increase,” Jokowi said.
Jokowi estimated that the decline in the prices of basic foodstuffs has affected the inflation rate in the region. Moreover, the Jambi district, which Jokowi had warned earlier, has a very high inflation rate.
“It is important because whatever inflation affects people’s purchasing power, it must be watched and seen, and I reminded the governor and mayor to look at the prices of basic foodstuffs in the market,” he said.
