KLHK Gandeng Akademisi-Praktisi Bahas Penyusunan RPPLH Nasional

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the challenges and opportunities for the development of the water, energy and food resources sector in the planning and implementation of the Environmental Protection and Management Plan (RPPLH) in Jakarta 15-17 May 2023.

This activity aims to enrich materials related to opportunities and challenges in the water, food and energy sectors in supporting environmental and social safeguards (ESS) as a basis for the use of natural resources.

Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry Alu Duhong said that there are currently many challenges and opportunities to achieve a developed Indonesia in 2045. Some of them are the triple planetary crisis: climate, biodiversity loss and environmental pollution. Global Risks Megatrends 2045; Sustainable Development Goals (environment, social and economics); and VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity).

Meanwhile, Director General of Forestry Planning and Environmental Management, Rwanda Agung Sugardeman revealed that RPPLH is the basis of preparation and is included in the long-term development plan and the medium-term development plan. This plan also forms the basis for the use of natural resources.

“This means that the RPPLH should be used to enhance environmental and social protection aspects (environmental and social safeguards – ESS) in planning and implementation of development, spatial planning and use of natural resources as well as work permits at landscape and site level, as regulated in legislation [PUU] Create jobs.”

In the planning process of PPLH, Ruandha assesses that the participation of the community and stakeholders including experts and practitioners is an important part. This includes preparing the RPPLH document.

That is why, through this forum, Ruandha hopes that this FGD activity can become a means of communication, coordination and cooperation between the various parties in the process of preparing and refining national RPPLH materials from various parties.

“Through this focus group, we hope that experts and practitioners can provide suggestions, opinions and responses as well as refine information on RPPLH’s national technical materials.” Rwanda is saved.

For information, the focus group activities were attended by key senior officials of the Ministry of Environment and Forests as well as academics and practitioners with areas of expertise in the water, energy and food sectors.
