KPK Once again detained a member of Jambi DPRD named Mauli (MU) for the period 2014-2019 in connection with the Jambi Provincial Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBD) case for the fiscal years 2017 and 2018. MU was detained after receiving bribe hundreds of millions of rupees.
“The amount of money received by MU was IDR 200 million,” Acting Deputy Law Enforcement Officer of KPK Asip Guntur said at KPK, Jakarta, on Tuesday (16/5/2023).
KPK has so far identified 52 suspects in the case. 28 of them were members of the Jambi DPRD for the period from 2014 to 2019.
This issue arose with a number of infrastructure workers’ projects worth billions of rupees arranged by the Jambi district government. The project has been listed on Jambi RAPBD for the fiscal years 2017 and 2018.
To facilitate the ratification of the RAPBD, the suspects from the DPRD group asked Zumi Zola, who at that time held the position of Governor of Gambia, for an amount. The requested money was then disguised as a hammer.
“With this request, Zumi Zola, through his close friend Baut Syakarin, who is a businessman, has prepared funds in the amount of 2.3 billion rupees,” Asip said.
Asip added that the Kitok Hammer bribe money was then distributed to the suspected DPRK members in the amount of hundreds of millions of rupees.
“Regarding hammer blows, it is adjusted according to the status of suspects in the DPRK, the amount starts from 100 million rupees to 400 million rupees for each DPRK member,” Asip said.
Suspect MU has been charged under Article 12 Letter A or Article 11 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 31 of 1999 Juncto Article 55 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. MU is currently going through his first 20 days of detention at the KPK Detention Centre.
“There are still 12 suspects who have not been arrested and KPK will immediately schedule an appointment to schedule their summons,” Asip concluded.
