The 43rd Anniversary of the National Craft Council (Dekranas) was held at the Santika Meydan Hotel, Tuesday (16/5/20233). Besides the revitalization of ethnic dance performances along with fashion shows made of cloth typical of the regions in Indonesia, this event has also been revitalized by the appearance of the Ari Lasso.
The parade was attended by First Lady, Iriana Joko Widodo, President of Dekranas National Wuri Ma’ruf Amin, all officials of Dekranas, Dekranasda District, Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution, President of Dekranasda Medan Kahiyang Ayu Bobby Nasution, and officials of Dekranasda Regency/City across Indonesia.
The ceremony, which was attended by 1,496 invitees from all over Indonesia, was marked by the First Lady cutting off her headdress. In addition, Eriana Joko Widodo officially opened the new Entrepreneurship Training and inspected the 43rd Anniversary Exhibition of Decrana in Benteng Square.
At the event, many provincial and Regency/City Dekranasda chiefs of Indonesia also presented clothes made with regional specialties. The fashion show, which was accompanied by songs and dances, featured Medan Dekranada Kahiyang Ayu President Bobby Nasution and West Java Dekranasda President Atalia Praratya.
The Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, in his remarks expressed his gratitude for choosing the city of Medan to host this national event. According to him, this election shows the interest of Dekranas so that the craftsmen of Medan grow and develop for the progress of Indonesia in the future.
“We have high hopes that the artisans of Meydan will continue to grow and develop with this celebration,” Bobby said in a written statement on Tuesday (5/16/2023).
Bobby also apologized to the guests if they experienced inconvenience during the trip at several points in Medan due to the ongoing construction process.
“We will continue to improve ourselves in the future so that we can be more successful in holding national and international events,” said Bobby.
Meanwhile, President General of Decranas Wori Maarouf in his remarks expressed his gratitude to the First Lady for attending the anniversary celebration. In particular, he also thanked the Dekranasda in North Sumatra and Medan who were willing to successfully host and implement this grand event.
Woori hopes that at the age of 43 Dekranas will be more productive and creative in providing the best service to the nation and the state. He stated that his party continues to implement various training programs to improve the welfare of artisans.
Woori said the presence of artisans in the area is declining. This was due to the renovation not going well.
“Therefore, we will continue to implement programs to create new entrepreneurs,” said Woori.
