Polda Metro Jaya has once again imposed manual fines to suppress traffic violations on the highway. Metro Police said it would take action against unscrupulous members who were found to be “playing” in carrying out the measure.

Polda Metro Jaya Dirlantas Kombes Latif said that re-implementation of manual fines has become a concern for the leadership. This is because he fears that members may take advantage of manual fines by asking for a sum of money as a peaceful means.

“Because if manual contact occurs, contact occurs, this could actually be a concern for the leadership, in fact, the behavior of the members,” Latif told reporters on Tuesday (5/16/2023).

Latif added that his party would take firm action if it was found that members were playing games and taking advantage of manual fines.

“Of course (he will be dealt with severely), because of course the first thing we did was the prohibition we did, and we did the morning assembly. We gave the ticket not to an officer at random. In fact, to an officer who had the qualifications. So to avoid complaints, the main thing is to keep us all safe.” .

Reasons for imposing manual tickets

Previously, the head of public relations at the National Police, Inspector General Sandy Nugroho, said there were several things that immediately made the ticket come back into force.
