Suhendra, known as “Father of a million childrenHe was sentenced to 4 years in prison for alleged child trafficking. Sohindra’s lawyer, Hiru Prayetno, said he contested the ruling.
After the sentencing session on Tuesday (16/5/2023), Hero said, “We feel heavy because neither the accused nor our client had the intention to commit the crime of human trafficking or anything else.”
Heru has not yet clarified whether Suhendra will file an appeal. He said that Hendra did not understand the law and only helped mothers who became pregnant out of wedlock so that their children would not be abandoned or abandoned.
“Finally, Suhendra catapulted into a social role as ‘Father of a Million Children’ which went viral before stumbling across the act,” he said.
Heru said that the government should embrace Suhendra’s good intentions. He said that Suhendra used the money he earned to the parents of the child for the birth.
“The defendant used the personal money of pregnant women to accommodate our clients at home,” he said.
“Our client was considered uncooperative or unwilling to admit what he did. How can we admit that our client did not really enjoy the money. Our client’s personal finances were not considered by the jury,” he continued.
Suhendra is sentenced to 4 years in prison
Previously, Suhendra underwent a hearing in Cibinong District Court, Bogor Regency. The judge sentences Suhendra to 4 years in prison.
“The sentence is 4 years,” the public relations officer of Amran’s Chipinong District Court told reporters.
In addition to being sentenced to 4 years imprisonment, he was ordered to pay a fine of 100 million rupees, which is a subsidiary of 3 months in prison. It is legally proven that he committed the crime of child trafficking.
“A fine of IDR 100 million for 3 months,” he said.
