KPK banned Bandung Regional Secretary (Sekda) Emma Sumarna from traveling abroad in connection with the case of bribery for the purchase of CCTV and Internet provider services in Bandung in the program Smart City Bandung. Emma was prevented because her permit was needed to investigate the inactive Bandung Walkot Yana Mulyana, now a suspect.
KPK Reporting Unit Head Ali Fikri told reporters on Tuesday (16/5/2023): “Currently KPK has banned one party who works as a provincial secretary in the Bandung city government from going abroad.”
“It was prevented in the context of the needs of the investigation in the case of the suspect YM et al,” he added.
Previously, Emma Sumarna was questioned as a witness in a corruption case that also ensnared Yana Mulyana. Emma is closely related to the corruption case.
“The party being prevented is suspected of being closely related to the investigation of this case,” Ali said.
Prevention has been performed on Emma since the beginning of this month. This policy will be implemented for the next 6 months.
“The blocking application has been submitted since the beginning of May 2023 to the Director General of Immigration of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The cooperative attitude of the blocked party is necessary so that the case investigation process can be completed promptly,” Ali said.
Previously, KPK named 6 people as suspects in connection with the bribery in purchasing CCTV and Internet provider services in Bandung region in the program. Smart City Bandung. One of the suspects is Bandung Walcott Yana Mulyana.
