Vice President of KPK Nour Al-Ghufran He submitted an application for judicial review of the law to the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the term of office of the party leadership from 4 years to 5 years. Former President of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Yodi Purnomo Harhab He asked Gufron to do some meditation.

“Nurul Givron should have reflected on what he and other KPK leaders have been working on so far at the end of his tenure,” Yodi Purnomo told reporters on Tuesday (16/5/2023).

Youde alluded to the decline in the Corruption Perceptions Index under the current leadership era of the KPK. Youdi also stirred controversy over the alleged leak of corruption investigation documents.

“Just look, almost 3.5 years into this leadership period, how the Corruption Perception Index has dropped to 34, the KPK Chairman and one of his Vice Presidents have been subject to Code of Ethics sanctions, yet the public is waiting for the revelation of the alleged leak of investigative documents being investigated by Diwas. said Judy.

Yodi questioned Govron’s reasons for requesting to change the KPK’s leadership term from 4 years to 5 years. Moreover, Yodi said, this lawsuit was filed at the end of the tenure of KPK Chairman Verli Bahori et al.

The investigation into the motives of Nour Al-Ghufroun demanded that the party’s leadership period be 5 years, extendable for one term, and this lawsuit has already ended at the end of the leadership period for this period, which ends in December 2023, and the government will do so. They usually form a committee about six months before it ends, which may be in May or in June, a committee will be formed,” Yodi said.

However, Yodi said that Ghufron’s lawsuit is constitutionally valid. However, Yode said, the KPK leadership position was for 4 years in accordance with the provisions of the KPK Law and was important in the renewal of the KPK leadership.

“Although Nur al-Ghufroun’s suit is constitutionally valid, it is not good for the KPK leadership, which, according to the KPK law, served 4 years, and instead asked for an additional year to 5 years,” Youdi said.

He continued, “These 4 years have complied with the law and have so far been decisive in renewing the leadership of the KPK party. This is because 4 years is enough time for the leadership of the KPK to turn the organizational wheels of the KPK in eradicating corruption.”

Yudi said that the public is waiting for the new leadership of KPK to give new hope in eradicating corruption.

“In fact, the public now hopes that the leadership of the Kurdistan Communist Party, which will be elected in December 2023, will become a new hope for eradicating corruption,” he said.

Ghufron asks the Constitutional Court to change the mandate of the leaders of the Kurdistan Communist Party

It is known that Nour Al-Ghufran submitted a judicial review of Law No. 19 of 2019 regarding changes to Law No. 30 of 2002 regarding KPK. Upon reviewing his request to the MK, Guvron asked to change the term of the KPK chairmanship from 4 years to 5 years.

This is known from the minutes of Case No. 112 / PUU-XX / 2022, as we have seen detikumMonday (15/5). In this case, Gufron sat as petitioner.

“Declaring that Article 34 of Law No. 30 of 2002 on the Corruption Eradication Commission is conditionally inconsistent with the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia of 1945, unconstitutional conditionaland has no binding legal force as long as it is not interpreted as “the leader of the eradication of corruption holds office for a period of 5 years and can be re-elected for one term only,” said Guvron’s attorney, Lady, when reading the application at the application review hearing that took place on Wednesday (14/12 /2022).

Knesset member Aref Hedayat al-Bitetum was questioned. He asked why the applicant had asked to change the tenure of the position from 4 years to 5 years.

“Why did you ask for 5 years? Why not 10 years? Why not 12 years or 15 years? Why is that? Because the average for all institutions is 5 years?” Knesset member Judge Aref asked.

My son said, “That’s right, Your Highness.”

Gufron reason

Guvron explained his reasons for submitting an application for judicial review before the Constitutional Court. Guvron admitted that this was done so that the KCP’s leadership period would be compatible with other state institutions.

“I demand justice in accordance with Article 27 of the Constitution 45 and Article 28d, so that the term of the party chairmanship is the same in 12 other non-ministerial institutions of the state,” said Guvron. detikumTuesday (16/5).
