Delicious in Dungeon Episode 8: Release date, Preview

In Episode 7 of “Delicious in Dungeon”, Laios and everyone else entered the fourth floor and were stopped by a lake of underground water. Marcille wanted to cross it using magic like usual, but Senshi started throwing a tantrum. This guy is against magic, and well, due to his beard, Marcille’s magic didn’t work on him either. 

We see two fights, one against the kelpie Senshi claimed to know and one against a giant kraken. They defeated the kelpie since Laios caught wind that something was wrong beforehand and saved Senshi’s life. In the fight against the kraken, they won thanks to Senshi’s knowledge.

1. Episode 8 Release Date

Episode 8 of “Delicious in Dungeon” will be released on Thursday, February 22, 2024. It is usually released every Thursday, and you can watch the episode as soon as it is released on Netflix.

I. Is “Delicious in Dungeon” on a Break?

No, “Delicious in Dungeon” is not on a break this week, and Episode 8 should be released as usual on the above-mentioned date.

2. Episode 8 Speculation

Laios and the others entered the fourth floor and explored it a bit. In episode 8, they’ll move forward to explore more of this floor and reach the entrance to floor five. Floor five is their destination since that’s where the dragon resides. The other group of adventurers we saw earlier were revived once and died yet again.

Laios managed to save their bodies one more time. Now, there’s a possibility that someone revives them again just for the audience’s fun, but we’ll have to wait to see that. Laios’s obsession with eating monsters takes a weird turn since he wants to eat a mermaid, too now. However, Chilchuck stopped him, so he had to make peace with the parasite of the kraken.

3. Recap of Episode 7

Two adventurers found and revived the group of adventurers Laios and the others found dead on the third floor. The one that revived them didn’t say anything about the treasure bugs, so they assumed that they had been killed by Laios’s party. They went after him immediately.

On the other side, our heroes descend on the fourth floor, where they come across a lake made from underground water. Marcille cast a spell on everyone so that they could walk on the surface, but Senshi started throwing a tantrum since he hated magic.

Using the outer shell of a mimic, he baited a kelpie he had known for some time. Senshi called it Anne and decided to ride it and cross the lake. Laios told him not to trust a monster, but Senshi did what he wanted to anyway, and sure enough, Anne dragged him underwater to kill him. 

Laios saw this coming and jumped into the water, successfully saving Senshi’s life. Senshi then gutted the monster and gave Marcille some of its fat as she asked. Marcille prepared a bit of soap while Senshi tried to preserve the monster meat.

In the meantime, Laios and Chillchuck went to check some floating things on the water, and it was the bodies of the other adventurer group, once again, dead. They encountered a group of sirens on their way back, but Laios made them go away with his singing.

Using those grains, Laios cooked lunch for everyone. After lunch, Marcille gifted the soap to Senshi, and he wanted to use it, so Marcile helped him wash his beard. Once his beard was clean, Marcille cast the water walking spell on him, and this time, he was able to walk.

On their way forward, they were attacked by a giant kraken, but with Senshi’s knowledge about different animals, they took it down with a bit of struggle. Senshi then cooked up not only the kraken but the giant parasite inside it too into monster skewers.

5. About Dungeon Meshi

Dungeon Meshi is a fantasy gourmet manga by Ryoko Kui. It started getting published in 2014. It is also licensed by Yen Press and published in English as ‘Delicious in Dungeon’. As of August 2022, 12 volumes have been released.

The story starts after a whole kingdom is sunk, and its survivor king promises his treasury to anyone who can defeat the culprit magician. Guilds are thus formed, and tons of adventures go on this journey.

The protagonist loses his sister to a dragon on one such journey and promises to bring her back. On his way, he and his party need to survive by cooking monsters inside the dungeon.
