Puan then brought to light the violence committed by the KKB. He demanded that the government find a solution to overcome the insecure situation in Papua, and Puan does not want any more victims as a result of the KKB violence.
“The violence that continues to be perpetrated by the armed criminal group in Papua is also a source of concern for the DRC,” Puan said.
He continued, “The government must be able to find appropriate solutions and strategies to deal with unsafe situations, actions that threaten civilians and even actions that have caused casualties, both among Indonesian army soldiers and civilians.”
Apart from that, Puan also stressed overseeing the preparation and implementation of the 2024 elections. According to Puan, the NPC will ensure that the PDP will be held smoothly.
“The stages of the 2024 elections have already begun. The relevant DRC organ will supervise the implementation of the stages of the 2024 elections, thus ensuring that the 2024 elections will be held in an advanced, honest and fair civilization,” he said.
Moreover, during the fifth trial, Puan explained that the main agenda of the House of Representatives (AKD) interpolation tools was to hold discussions on macroeconomic policy and fiscal policy principles (KEM PPKF) for the 2024 state budget. According to her, the 2024 state budget should be used programs priority.
“APBN for fiscal year 2024 is the last APBN for the term of administration of President Joko Widodo and Vice President KH Maruf Amin. Therefore, the priority of APBN for fiscal year 2024 is directed towards completing priority programs and strategic programs that will strengthen the foundation in the advancement of Indonesia.”
With regard to the implementation of the legislative function, the DRC, together with the government and the DPD RI, is said to give priority to completing the discussion of the nine bills (RUU) that are currently still in first-level discussion. Apart from that, the other bills included in the Priority Act of 2023.
The nine bills are the Industrial Designs Bill, the Health Bill, and the Amendments to Law No. Law No. 5 of 2014 Concerning the State Civil Service (ASN), Draft Civil Procedures Law, Draft Law of the Second Amendment to Law No. 35 of 2009 Concerning Drugs.
Further, the Fourth Amendment bill to Act No. No. 24 of 2003 on the Constitutional Court, the New Energy and Renewable Energy Bill, the Mother and Child Care (MCH) Bill and the Conservation of Living Natural Resources and Their Ecosystems Bill.
